Prof. Dr. Fritz M. Schuhmacher applied himself to the study of law at the University of Basel, terminating as a student and assistant to Professor Dr. Kurt Eichenberger by obtaining a doctorate degree, Dr. iur. (approx. equivalent: PhD in Law), based on his thesis “Government and administration reforms in Switzerland”, as well as passing the lawyer and notary examinations. Following this, he was active as an associate of a respected lawyer and notary office in Basle. As of New Year 1983, he was elected a member of the ITAG board of directors, which, at the same time, appointed him as a further delegate. From 1983 until 2005, Prof. Dr. Fritz Schuhmacher strategically led the group of companies together with his partner, Dr. Annasohn. For almost a quarter of a century, they together markedly expanded the company both geographically as well as with regard to the fields of activity. Both were appointed to the boards of directors of large, sometimes quoted companies. Prof. Dr. Schuhmacher increasingly looked after numerous mandates in the field of media companies. In May 2008 Prof. Dr. Schuhmacher went into retirement.
