Investment strategy

The investment goal of New Energies Invest is to achieve long-term appreciation of the company's value by investing assets internationally in a diversified portfolio of unlisted (max. 100% of the portfolio) and listed (max. one-third) companies that are active in the field of renewable energy and related industries. Investments are made along the entire value chain, i. e. in companies that finance renewable forms of energy, act in an advisory capacity to such companies, produce, distribute, sell and subsequently trade in energy, as well as in companies that develop, manufacture, assemble or use the components and equipment required for this purpose. The Company's objective is to focus on solar energy, complemented by holdings in the areas of biomass, hydro power, geothermal energy, wind power and fuel cells. The emphasis is on the field of solar power because this industry offers higher than average growth potential.

The main target is seen as the provision of financing for business expansion, MBOs or pre-IPOs through equity or mezzanine financing. Loans can also be granted to companies in which the company has a stake. No more than 25% of the portfolio will be invested in each "early stage" and "seed capital" or "start-up" phase companies. Any single investment may not exceed 20% of the NAV at cost. The investment horizon is between two and five years.

Investments are made mainly in OECD countries, with particular emphasis on the EU and North America. The company does not strive to establish majority shareholdings. The company actively monitors its holdings and, in some cases, gives support to the management of its invested companies. Investments can be made either as lead or co-investors.
