Doctorate in law at University of Basel. Since 2000 lecturer at Leuphana University of Lüneburg (Germany) for Reinsurance and Corporate Governance. In 1989 Dr. von Escher moved from Roche law department to Swiss Re, where he worked until 2005: from 2003 in leading positions, responsible for various European markets, especially Germany and from 2001 as Managing Director and Head Group CEO Office. Since February 2006 Corporate Secretary of Bâloise-Holding.
